Leave Rules

Home / Rules and Regulations / Leave Rules
  • A list of holidays of the current year is printed in the diary. All are expected to attend school on the re-opening day after each vacation. Parents are requested not to take their children on vacation before the set date or to extend these vacations. There will be a penalty if this rule is not followed. It is mandatory for a student to be present in school on the day before school closes for any vacation and on the day it re-opens.
  • Students who have been absent from class must have the reason entered in the Regularity Record in the diary, under ‘Absence’, stating briefly the cause of the absence and duly signed by the parent. If a student has to be absent because of illness or any other reason for three or more days, the Principal is to be informed by letter and a doctor’s prescription and original fit certificate submitted when the student returns.
  • Parents should inform the School authorities if their child is suffering from any serious illness, chronic ailment, sensory defect or is physical handicapped. As soon as a case of Chicken Pox, Measles, Mumps or any other such contagious disease is diagnosed, parents are requested to give the school a letter of intimation of illness and a copy of the doctor’s prescription. Parents are advised to maintain a quarantine period before the child is sent back to school, with a fitness certificate from the doctor.
  • A sick child should not be sent to school even if there is a Class Test or Examination.
  • If an unauthorized absence from school exceeds 30 calendar days, the student’s name will be struck off the rolls, and she will have to be readmitted to school at the discretion of the Management.
  • If a student injures herself in the school campus she will be administered with immediate first aid only. The parents will be informed and are expected to come and attend to their ward immediately. It is important to give correct phone numbers (minimum 2 phone numbers) in the diary and update it whenever there is a change. It is expected that parents will receive calls from the school number, at any time.
  • Three late arrivals in an academic year will result in sending the child back home the subsequent time that she is late.
  • Attendance is compulsory on non-teaching activity days e.g. Republic Day, Sports Day, Teachers’ Day, Children’s Day and Concert and if assigned special duty.
