General Rules

  • School begins with silence and meditation. Morning Assembly is compulsory and all are expected to be on time. It is mandatory for a student to be present in school on the day before school closes for any vacation and on the day it re-opens.
  • Students are expected to behave in a lady-like manner on all occasions. They should address their teachers and companions with gentleness and courtesy. Refinement of manners, uprightness and self–restraint should distinguish every student of the school.
  • Since it is an English medium school, students are expected to speak in English during school hours, as this would benefit their academic progress in the subject.
  • Students are responsible for their books and belongings. Each article must have a label with their name.
  • No student is to leave the school campus during school hours unless a written request by the parents has been made and has been duly authorized by the Principal/ Coordinators.
  • Students are not allowed to bring to school any electronic gadgets such as cell phones and, digital watches, toys, magazines and journals not subscribed to by the school.
  • Students of classes Nursery – V are allowed to come in coloured dress and give a sapling to the school on their birthdays.
  • Students are not permitted to give personal gifts to members of the staff.
  • All students from Class V upwards are expected to participate in social work and community service. It is hoped that the students of Loreto will leave school with a strong conviction that, “Happiness consists not in what you can get but in what you can give.” [ Mahatma Gandhi]
  • Hygiene and personal cleanliness are integral to good health and greatly recommended to all.
  • Parents should check their ward’s exercise books regularly. It is more important to check their daily work than performance in the Examinations.
  • No collection for any purpose, whatsoever, may be made without prior sanction by the Principal.
  • Irregular attendance, unexplained absence for more than a week, disobedience and conduct injurious to the tone of the school will not be accepted.
  • Private tuition is discouraged and no member of staff has permission to give tuition.
  • No marks will be awarded in the entire block test/examination, if a student uses unfair means.
  • No jewellery or precious stones are to be worn to school - only a pair of simple small rings / studs may be worn on the earlobe. Hair must not be coloured, nails should be cut and nail polish is prohibited. Hair should be tied neatly in two plaits or if too short, a hair band must be worn. A simple wrist watch with a black strap may be worn by students of classes VI to XII. NO RINGS on the fingers will be permitted. Spectacle frames must be of dark colour. Transparent contact lenses are allowed.
  • Usage of plastic bags is strictly prohibited.
